Ardennes Coticule bout for 8000/10000 sharpening stone of 18/22cm2
The bout of Selected Belgian Yellow with irregular dimensions (estimated surface area of 18-22cm2) allows you to obtain a slurry suspension by rubbing it on the finishing stone thereby lowering the original grit of the stone and speeding up the finishing process.
For more experienced users, a bout of this size can be used in all respects as a “mini finishing stone”. If you want to use the bout as a finishing stone, we suggest to lap the part to be used (yellow bottom).
How to use: After wetting the stone and the bout, rub the bout on the stone until you get a slurry, then pass the razor on the stone with “outwards” movements, moving the slurry back and forth in the direction of the razor’s movement. When the slurry is “absorbed/finished”, rinse the razor and the stone with water, then finish the sharpening part on the stone under running water.
